Self-Healing Energy | A Moment of Reflection

What does it mean to be a good person?

Hmmm… what does it truly mean to be a good person?

To me, it’s about having a moral compass, a good heart, and a beautiful soul. It’s about showing compassion, having empathy, and treating others with kindness, even when there’s nothing to gain in return.

I’ve always believed that life experiences shape people into who they become, and I’m living proof of that.

I’ve always had a good heart. Have there been moments when that heart was tested? Absolutely. But one thing I can say is that I never allowed those experiences to define me or change the person I am at my core.

Life has taught me lessons about people, forgiveness, boundaries, and most importantly, myself.

I believe you can have a good heart and still make mistakes. None of us are perfect. What matters is being able to recognize when you’ve hurt someone, take accountability, and make an effort to do better.

I also believe that people sometimes mistake kindness for weakness. Just because someone has a soft heart doesn’t mean they don’t know when to walk away.

You can forgive someone and still choose not to have them in your life. You can show compassion while protecting your peace. You can wish someone well without allowing them the same access to you.

Being a good person doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice yourself to prove it.

As I continue this journey of life, I’m learning that my experiences don’t have to harden my heart. They can teach me wisdom, patience, and understanding.

At the end of the day, I don’t strive to be a perfect person. I strive to be someone who leads with love, moves with good intentions, takes accountability, and remains true to herself.

Because no matter what life throws my way, I never want to lose the goodness within me.

A good heart is something I carry, but protecting my peace is something I’ve learned. 🤎🌻

Food for thought: What does being a good person mean to you? And have your life experiences changed the way you show kindness to others?
